FAQs

What is Many Paths to Healing?

Many Paths to Healing provides Tools to Empower Survivors.  We are a website for survivorship. We provide tools to navigate the winding road of surviving and thriving through life’s challenging times. These resources address the Knowledge of the Body, the Power of the Mind, and the Wisdom of the Spirit to help you move forward, take charge and create new beginnings.

Who created Many Paths to Healing?

Many Paths to Healing was created by Dr. Louise Lubin, a licensed clinical psychologist in Norfolk, Virginia. Dr. Louise Lubin has practiced adult, marital and family therapy for 40 years. A major focus has been on survivorship in chronic and life-threatening illnesses. She is a retired Community Faculty at the Eastern Virginia Medical School and a lifetime member of the American Psychological Association and the National Register of Health Service Psychologists.

She has developed programs “Many Paths to Healing” for hospital systems and physician groups to provide patients with the tools necessary to cope and manage the emotional challenges of illness. She has presented to her local and national peers, worked with a regional Cancer Network committee and contributed to the book, Breast Cancer: A Psychological Treatment Manual. Her book, Your Journey beyond Breast Cancer- Tools for the Road (2021)is an interactive guide to restore, revive and rebuild patients’ lives at any milepost on their breast cancer journey. What is a clinical psychologist?

According to Wikipedia, a Clinical Psychologist practices clinical psychology, which is an integration of science, theory, and clinical knowledge for the purpose of understanding, preventing, and relieving psychologically-based distress or dysfunction and to promote subjective well-being and personal development. Central to its practice are psychological assessment, clinical formulation, and psychotherapy, although clinical psychologists also engage in research, teaching, consultation, forensic testimony, and program development and administration. In many countries, clinical psychology is a regulated mental health profession.
